9th Annual Memorial Festival & Open Car Show – March 09,2018. Open to the Public - SAPD Academy, from 1100am – 400pmThe purpose of the Memorial Festival is to create a fun-filled day for the children, families and friends of fallen officers to share with the community. It is an opportunity for the community and friends of SAPD survivor families to show them that they are not forgotten. Primarily, funds raised are to support the family of any fallen SAPD officer when their name is placed on the national memorial wall. During the month of May, National Police Week is an annual event in Washington D.C. Our committee is dedicated to ease any logistics and financial concerns of our survivors and to express our support beyond the Memorial Festival itself. Areas available will include a cultural/ historical area (volunteer organizations in the community), children’s play area (bounce houses, games) raffle, food booths, vendors (t-shirts, arts, crafts) and a car show on the police driving track. Guests may purchase tickets for rides and games or an all-day pass. Sponsorship and donations are also welcome for a raffle, children’s games and events throughout the day. The highest donors/sponsors will be presented these memorial flags encased with the event logo. This is a unique opportunity for the citizens of San Antonio and surrounding areas, current SAPD officers and the survivor families to celebrate family and community. We are asking for your support to make this event a continued success and give the survivor families a way to remember their loved one in a positive and fun environment. |
