My prayers are with Tony’s family at this time of loss and sorrow. Tony and I were SAPD classmates and good friends. I also know that he was a Vietnam Veteran as were many of us in our class. My family and I extend our sincerest condolences to all of his family. May your own faith in God sustain you bringing you comfort today and courage for tomorrow, and the memories of good times never forgotten. Again our deepest sympathy and prayers to all the family and friends of Tony

The San Antonio Police Department Cadet Class 1972-D wishes to express their condolences to the family of Tony Vargas. The last time most of us saw Tony was at our monthly luncheon at Estela’s cafe, right before he moved to Arizona. Tony was a beloved fellow police officer and a true friend. Tony will be greatly missed.

May my good friend Tony rest in peace. Hard worker, dedicated, never lost his cool. Played ball together. His children were always a priority. Great all around; will miss him dearly.
