SAN ANTONIO — A new study which ranks the top 50 safest cities in Texas doesn't include San Antonio. In fact, San Antonio doesn't even make the top 200!

The study by SafeWise looked at violent and property crime rates and found 84% of safe cities reported to have less than one violent crime per 1,000 residents.

Subject: Update on our Grandson, McCoy Shadrock's battle with cancer.

This was copied from our Daughter's FB Post.
Wanted to give a few details of what’s going on with my son McCoy Shadrock. First, yes it’s cancer. He has a Germ Cell Tumor in his chest.  Second, it’s curable with aggressive chemo. Praise God!!

Third, many have asked why we can’t just remove it. At this time it is wrapped around too many vessels and too close to major organs. Once the tumor shrinks enough he will make a trip to MD Anderson for the surgeons to review and see if they can remove remaining pieces or if continuing chemo would be better. Biggest thing right now is to shrink it as quickly as possible so his cough will go away, the mass will stop pressing on his heart and lungs and the pain with every breath to stop.

He is having his port put in his chest as I type this and will begin chemo this afternoon. We have no idea how this began or when and honestly it doesn’t matter at this point.

We will all fight for him and with him through all the good, bad, and ugly and he will be stronger for it after. We do ask for continued prayers for his faith, his heart, and his strength. Thank you everyone for the outpouring of love and prayers for everyone here. We love all of you.

The family is not allowing visitors. We will leave that up to McCoy to make that decision as it’s not our place. Feel free to reach out to him and chat. He will let you know how he feels for that day and if he’s up for visitors. We will all take this day by day and walk beside him along his journey.

Thanks for your continued Prayers.
Mike Ross
